Yes, you can sortof do that with IRM Server. That is, set a "not valid after" 
on a document/spreadsheet/etc.

There's also some "document DRM" type of stuff that's supposed to allow the 
mgm't/revocation/etc... of documents even once distributed... dunno much about 
it tho'.

There's no such functionality via NTFS.  Your backup application may or may not 
support such a function.
