I am using SEP at many customers sites and even at a Corporate site (through WAN link and obviously was a decision of the corporate not just mine). Last versions ,MR5 and MR6 are very stable ,not intrusive and very configurable in deep. We didn't have in the last 2 years any system issue . Some notes: 1. Manuals are very detailed. You must read them carefully for install and configure it. 2. I never install the manager in DC or other production servers. I have a dedicated member server that I can use also for other monitoring tasks. 3. It is true that he proactive portion of it is not at top level in catching last minute threats, but I noticed other big vendors missed them (see UPS mail threat) 4. The client is NOT a bloated resouce drainer at all (memory and CPU) and much less than AVG,McAfee and TREND. Similar to NOD32 5. The pricing is very convenient now. They offer Backup Exec recovery Desktop for all clients GuidoElia HELPPC

We are running SAV because we are a Symantec Partner, therefore I assume we get it for free. But, if I had the decision I would switch to VIPRE in a flash. I have nothing against Symantec, in fact they have a strong portfolio of solutions. However, their Antivirus / Endpoint Protection is unwieldy, badly designed and above all a bloated resource drainer. I would be very surprised if anyone here came out strongly in favour of SAV, but I would be very interested to hear if anyone has positive experiences. Always want to be open minded.
