Based on your figures below, here in Ireland is as follows: ?1.32 per litre, $1.63 per litre = ?6.17 per US gallon. That's for petrol, not sure about diesel.
With my motorbike, it takes about ?20 to fill it, if I'm just going to work and back (5mile round trip) I get about 80miles. On long runs, I average about 130. I get about 18mpg on inefficient local driving ... 30mpg on the open roads (and about 7/8mpg on track!). That's considered a disgrace over here, but it is a 3l V6.
