Windows 7 embedded has just been released. In my experience any updates are provided by the Vendor. For example, if it is a Wyse thin terminal that is using Windows x embedded then you have to wait for Wyse to provide any updates.
I'd expect it would be similar for POS Ready. From: Ryan Finnesey [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Wednesday, 30 June 2010 10:48 AM To: NT System Admin Issues Subject: Windows Embedded POSReady? Has anyone on the list worked with Windows Embedded POS Ready? I understand this OS is based on XP but has Mainstream support until April 2014. Does this mean that Microsoft is still releasing Service Parks and Security Updates/patches? I have never worked with embedded windows before does it require anti-virus? What is the best way to patch the system? Cheers Ryan This message is for the designated recipient only and may contain privileged, proprietary, or otherwise private information.
