We have a branch office that's experiencing slowdowns when Opening Excel or Word files through Windows Explorer via double-click. We found a solution that involved disabling DDE for .xls files that seemed to make the computers go browse/open files much faster. Whenever we disable DDE, it re-enables itself later and automagically.
Does anybody have registry or group policy fix that can be used to "permanently" disable DDE for specific file types? Or should I just use the Jobs method of fixing the solution?
