How does color help you manage permissions on hundreds of folders? Color is useful for tagging like objects, especially when the objects are sorted/grouped by some other method. But permissions and folder names don't break down into categories. All the computer could do would be assign an arbitrary color to each folder in series. You'd just get a sea of color without any information content. I think you're hoping for an easy fix when there isn't one.
