Thanks. yeah. the files are not sensitive, things like print-quality photos of product, etc that are rather large. just that email is not designed nor intended to be a file-transfer method, and we have limited disk space for mailboxes on our IPS's server. J I try to keep mailbox sizes down, but with some sales reps having smart phones, they never use Outlook and I have to get on 'em to go onto webmail and delete their messages. So, when someone sends a couple 5 or 10 meg files it starts clogging mailboxes up quickly. L

I can not stress this enough. You have a total lack of requirements, and someday this will come to bite you. Anyway, that said, I gather that the data probably isn't very sensitive. If so, you could just give everyone Gmail accounts. If it actually has something that you should be protecting (e.g. commercially sensitive, or maybe it has some client information), then consider Groove/Outlook (synced to Sharepoint/WSS) or SharePoint (WSS is also free), as at least it's under your control and runs over HTTPS Cheers Ken From: John Aldrich [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Wednesday, 1 September 2010 11:09 PM To: NT System Admin Issues Subject: RE: sending large files Thanks to everyone for the suggestions. We're going to try DropBox as you get up to 2 gigs free.
