Obviously there's a point where size or speed or scalability means you
have to "step up" but a DL185 should take various external disk
enclosures and these days with 2tb SAS/SATA drives that's 24tb in a 3U
cabinet - proviso's being that your RAID controller will handle the
spindles etc.

Subject: Storage Solutions

Hi All,

We bought an HP Storage server, Proliant DL 185, 9TB to get started as a
central storage device. We need to scale up as the requirements keep
growing. Is this solution scalable upwards? If not, what are the
alternative scalable solutions and cost that may not be in the higher
bracket like EMC and Netapp but with similar or almost close features?
We are doing our budgets and want to factor in this.

Thanks,

Juma.
