If you can't easily extract just the driver sometimes you can use one from

  With the one Logitech gizmo we have, the driver and the bloat appeared to be 
tightly integrated.  I didn't try too hard to pick it apart; I'll take another 
look at it.

  While this is "for work" in the sense that I'm doing it and they're paying,
