If you were on a DNS blacklist I would expect you to get a clean 5xx reject, not a disconnect.
I'd be looking at your firewall. Do your Exchange servers go out through the same rule as your PC does? Do both servers talk happily enough to each other or is it only when it's to external servers? Have you tried telnetting to multiple mail servers?
