Hi - I'm looking for experience in the field from anyone who's implemented a compliance driven access approval system. Perhaps there's a proper name for such functionality, but to explain myself, we need to have managers approve (or not) all of their staffs' access to certain relevant applications on a regular basis. The process should also provide the facility for system owners to approve privileged accounts too. I created my own system for this in a previous role using SQL, Excel and a web portal, but there are slick commercial products that appear to do this much better! A couple we're looking at are NetIQ Secure Configuration Manager and Bhold. Both appear to have the functionality we require, with quite different approaches and price points. Anyone care to share their thoughts on them, or indeed any other similar solutions? Sometimes these are part of an IDM product, which is something else we're looking into, but not as urgently as this requirement - I'm really interested in the manager approval part of the process. The current manual process I'm looking to replace is one where our Compliance Manager asks for outputs from every in-scope system and then sends emails with user lists to managers (after manually sorting in Excel) and asks them if they look "right". It's very work intensive and just barely lives up to the spirit of the regulatory requirement. alan
