Is the error that another machine has the IP address? Or is the error that another NIC in the machine has the same IP address?
Slightly different errors, but the later usually means you have a hidden NIC. The former means some other machine has the IP. You can also get around the latter error by unchecking the "validate configuration" checkbox.
