OK I have to chime in, a few years ago the IT dept all 6 of us we chastised for
not putting a wreath on our door, I had some old Mainframe Drive packs at home
so I took one apart. Pulled out the individual platters and we started adding
stuff to it. We have circuit boards from Floppy drives, Other SCSI and IDE
Hard Drives, We have a CPU, and some RAM on there. WE added a speaker some
other misc circuit cards we had out of failed systems. We then tied a bow on
top with some 9-track tape. Then after a few days someone suggested it needed
a mouse, so we added a dead mouse with the appropriate saying to it. Now it is
so requested they want us to build another one to put in a wreath contest this
year. So we are back scrounging our spare parts to build another because we
don't want to give up the original. That is about all the decorating we do
though.

I've never worked at a company where it was "frowned" upon.

I have a USB-fed LED decoration that spells out "JOY", hooked up to my laptop.
Other cubes/areas are heavily decorated.

Previous job I had, each dept had their own trees setup in their areas.

***holding my tongue on the whole "Holiday" issue***

A buddy and myself ran lights around our cubicles, and we've gotten several
others involved. We're having to call them "holiday" lights, so as not to
"offend" anyone. We also have a small, 3' fiber optic tree, and some garland
to finish it off.

Was just curious if you guys were allowed to do anything like that.
