Try this at the cmd prompt: net start spooler If that fixes it, the question to be answered is "why is the spooler service stopping or crashing?"
Probably a driver that needs updating. You didn't answer the question about whether anything was in the event log, but a bad driver causing the service to stop will probably cause an event.
