We have a Shoretel system, and I'd really like to get some WIFI phones for it, for my own selfish purposes - I want to be able to reach out to my minions while they're away from their desks.
Unfortunately management isn't ready yet to buy the SIP gateway for Shoretel, so I'm wondering if any of you have played with asterisk and wifi phones, and a) what your results were, and b) if you have used phones that you especially liked or disliked. Our wireless infrastructure is a set of Cisco 1240AG WAPs plugged into HP 2600-PWR switches, and use is pretty light at the moment, so I think this is pretty doable. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.
