The encrpytion is the same whether it's $10 or $1000, the level of authentication changes i.e. you pay more, they check you really are Pitt County etc.
The main thing is to ensure that whichever cert you choose, that the devices that will connect to your server have the root CA installed. Broadly speaking if you're talking XP onwards and IE or Firefox/Chrome or recent Linux/Mac you should be OK unless it's something real obscure, but do check. We are setting up a remote desktop gateway server (that will be front-ended by ISA Server) and need to get a certificate for it. For the limited applications we have had in the past, we have been able to get by with using self-signed certificates, so this is our first foray into getting one from a 3rd party. I am looking at the various offerings and see that there are different levels (and associated costs) available. For example, GoDaddy offers "Standard SSL" and "Premium SSL", while Network Solutions offers "Xpress", "Basic", and "Advanced". What I am trying to understand is if going with a lower end offering ("Standard SSL" or "Basic", for instance) is going to cause any problems. Any info, pointers, or even specifics on the RDG/ISA implementation would be appreciated.
