We're running a Dell Poweredge R710 with a PERC 5/E controller going to a external disk enclosure with SAS drives. We want to have multipathing on this system so we connected a cable from each port on the card to a port on the enclosure. Going into the controller configuration, we disabled the controller BIOS. We've tried setting up the drives in various configurations on the controller but no matter what we've tried we see 2 active paths on one port of the controller and 1 active path on the other on the VSphere client configuration page. Has anyone worked with similar a similar setup and might have some suggestions?
