<quote> Evaluating licensing requirements To function correctly, remote Desktop Services must be deployed with Microsoft Office a volume license key. In the 2007 Microsoft Office system, installations could be completed on an operating system that had Remote Desktop Services configured, even if a non-volume license key (for example, retail) was used. However, when users started an application, they were presented with the following message: "This copy of Microsoft Office Program cannot be used on Terminal Server. Please contact your local authorized Microsoft retailer for more information." </quote> Thanks Carl Webster Consultant and Citrix Technology Professional <http://dabcc.com/Webster> http://dabcc.com/Webster From: Mark Robinson [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Sunday, February 13, 2011 4:10 AM To: NT System Admin Issues Subject: MS software Licensing for Citrix users Hi All, I need to upgrade Office 2003 to Office 2010 on our Citrix farm. We have been issued MAK / KMS keys for Microsoft for the upgrade, however I'm not sure that this is the correct licensing model for a terminal server? Previously we have used a Volume License Key to install Office products. However I do not have a VLK in my list of keys on the licensing website, only MAK / KMS. Does anyone have any experience of this please? I could install using the KMS key but I do not know if I will a) be breaking any licensing laws or b) will have issues when multiple users try to use Office apps simultaneously. I have scoured the web but haven't found anything of much use. ~ Finally, powerful endpoint security that ISN'T a resource hog! ~ ~ <http://www.sunbeltsoftware.com/Business/VIPRE-Enterprise/> ~ --- To manage subscriptions click here: http://lyris.sunbelt-software.com/read/my_forums/ or send an email to [email protected] with the body: unsubscribe ntsysadmin
