I bought the 880gm-ud2h this weekend bundled with a x2 555 processor
which I hope to unlock to x4. It's a similar board, but no USB3 or 6Gb
sata. Board and processor for $140. Not bad for quad core. It'll be
the lightroom/photoshop/ home office machine.
The board is micro and affordable, so I'd like to get another to replace
the htpc.

The integrated graphics performs really well. It definitely isn't the
lame integrated graphics of old. It has dedicated faster memory on the
board just for video and it shares RAM if the needs go beyond that.
Plus if you need extra super duper graphics it has slots. It has
plenty of SATA ports, built in firewire port in the rear and another
header for a front one. It also has USB3 so it is a little future
proof. It also has solid capacitors.
I installed 8 Gb of RAM on it and Win 7 64 bit.

Thanks, I appreciate everyone’s brand recommendation but this one
is specific.
What features did you like about the 890GPA-UD3H over others ?
For testing I’m leaning on integrated graphics, don’t need to have
bridged monster gaming video cards. Between 8 and 16gb RAM would
be nice, I’d like to start with 8.

I like Gigabyte. I just built a system for a family member two
weeks using that CPU and am happy with the result. I used a

I’m looking to build another inexpensive test box for 64 bit OS (
mostly Win7 x64 for now ) and looking at the AMD Phenom X6 Black
Edition 1090T processor at $200 to see what hexa-core is all about.
Does anyone have a specific recommendation for a favorite AM3
socket motherboard I should look at, or also recommendation for
what mobo to steer clear of ?
Thanks
