My biggest surprise setting up a 2008R2 SQL 2008 Cluster was what fun the
UAC can render.  Especially if you are accustomed to 2003 Clusters.

That said I did find it much more stable once I got past my growing pains,
and prefer 2008 clusters now.

We used blade servers for ours with 96 GB RAM...but I'll echo Michael's
advice about best you can buy with a support contract.  :)
