I've figured out another way around this. We just had a similar problem with Pro-E and they don't "officially" support license server communication over VPN/WAN links. The tech agreed with me that they had better get with the times because engineers can't be tethered with GB connections all the time. And that they are unofficially working on fixing the timeout problem. In our setup I've had users connected up with the Cisco Software VPN client and it always worked great. We finally got a hardware VPN set up to those users between out ASA's and that's when they timed out to the license server. In our case there's no DNS resolution between the networks so I had the license server configured by IP. I could ping the ip and had sub 130ms ping times but wouldn't work. Took a stab in the dark and added the license server to the workstations hosts file, changed the config to point to server name and it fires right up with no problems whatsoever. ~ Finally, powerful endpoint security that ISN'T a resource hog! ~ ~ <http://www.sunbeltsoftware.com/Business/VIPRE-Enterprise/> ~
