That would depend on the speed of the disks, the number of physical disks, the speed of the SAN controller, the speed of the link(s) between the SAN and the host, the speed of the host bus adapter(s), the speed of the I/O inside the host, the speed and I/O capabilities of the host's CPU, the phase of the moon, tomorrow's winning lottery numbers, and the number of angels which can dance on the head of a pin.
