Any recent Exchange updates? I recall a similar situation with SBS2008 after an Exchange roll up. I think the same thing can happen on Exchange 2007 after Roll Up 9.
IIRC, the fix is to re-apply the roll up. These are internal desktops. The clients are all different and its not system wide its just a workstation here and there.
