Try going to the folder where Trend is installed and (safe mode is probably your best bet) run "pccctool.exe" and select the "uninstall" tab and then click on the "uninstall" button. That might help. That's what seems to have *finally* gotten rid of most of the hooks that Trend had in the laptop I'm working on.

We did the vipre removal of trend , installed vipre and when we rebooted we are getting a stop error on mup.sys. MSKB http://support.microsoft.com/kb/906866 is exactly whats happening, but this doesnt fix it. We have 4 items registered in Security Center so Im guessing trend didnt uninstall correctly. We dont have trend listed as installed, so Im wondering if there was somewhere I could go quickly to remove its registration from Security Center. As an interim, we are disabling security center on the local boxes. This is only on XP not Win7 Thanks ~ Finally, powerful endpoint security that ISN'T a resource hog! ~ ~ <http://www.sunbeltsoftware.com/Business/VIPRE-Enterprise/> ~ --- To manage subscriptions click here: http://lyris.sunbelt-software.com/read/my_forums/ or send an email to [email protected] with the body: unsubscribe ntsysadmin ~ Finally, powerful endpoint security that ISN'T a resource hog! ~ ~ <http://www.sunbeltsoftware.com/Business/VIPRE-Enterprise/> ~ --- To manage subscriptions click here: http://lyris.sunbelt-software.com/read/my_forums/ or send an email to [email protected] with the body: unsubscribe ntsysadmin
