I'm looking for a sys admin that is using EMC storage in an environment consisting of Windows and UNIX servers. Specifically, the EMC box being configured in "Native" mode, which I understand is:
- Access to a file or directory through NFS or UNIX authenticated FTP is granted only if the UNIX permissions on the file or directory allow it. - Access through CIFS or Windows authenticated FTP is granted only if the Windows permissions on the file or directory allow it. - ACL and UNIX permissions are maintained for every file and directory. - A change in permissions on a file system object in NFS has no impact on permissions in CIFS and a change in permissions on a file system object in CIFS has no impact on permissions in NFS. Anybody out there have an environment such as this? -PaulĀ ~ Finally, powerful endpoint security that ISN'T a resource hog! ~ ~ <http://www.sunbeltsoftware.com/Business/VIPRE-Enterprise/> ~ --- To manage subscriptions click here: http://lyris.sunbelt-software.com/read/my_forums/ or send an email to [email protected] with the body: unsubscribe ntsysadmin
