Hi all,

We are about to split an office into two different companies/infrastructures. One company has about 20 users that need file storage that will be accessed via Windows XP, Win7, OS X and FTP. I was thinking about a NAS and specifically synology because they seem to have pretty good reviews on newegg and amazon, as well as smallnetbuilder.com.

We would generally do file server instead of NAS, so I thought I'd ask this intelligent and experienced lot of gentle folk for any advice. I do want a rackmountable option and there just doesn't seem to be as much info/experience with those models. I think my main concerns are file access speeds and AD integration with a NAS.
