I'd be shocked if I *couldn't* use a space in my password - because
that's exactly what I do for most of them - and I'm still using 2003.

I use passphrases that are almost always a simple sentence with proper
capitalization, spaces and punctuation - and which are usually at
least 20 characters long.

What might be the case is that the space character is no longer
considered any more special than an alpha or numeric character, but I
am just now setting up a Win2k8R2 test environment, so can't speak to
that yet.
