I've always seen this limit hit too, even on brand new builds. I always
increase the limit a little.

Subject: TCP/IP Connections

I've been seeing occasional system log entries on XP Pro machines indicating
the maximum number of TCPIP connections has been reached.
These machines have been having some performance issues which is what caused
me to be looking in the first place. Running Netstat /NO doesn't indicate a
problematic process and I'm seeing 5-8 connections max including my remote
connection (DameWare). The events sometimes take place during the day and
after hours when the machines are not in use.

We have VIPRE Enterprise but no other agent-based applications running on
these machines. Scans with VIPRE or other AV products don't show anything.

Any suggestions as to what may be doing this?
