We have one device that we are using to evaluate for those exact reasons.
I've only had it a couple of days.

I originally liked the marketing blurb about how the bridging protects
documents. When the bridge is broken, nothing remains on the Playbook
(think if someone walked away from the PB at Starbucks). However, I'm
disappointed in how that actually works. It works by downloading documents
to the SD card on the BB. We have our BES to configure encryption on all
BB. We haven't found that the PB can access BB encrypted files. That may
be our lack of time with it, but seems to be a weakness.

We are heavy Sharepoint users. Access to internal sites is OK via the
bridge browser. But I downloaded an app from the appstore that is supposed
to optimize performance of Sharepoint sites to the PB. Works very well for
public Sharepoint sites. However, it doesn't work over the bridge - the
vendor says it is a current RIM bridge limitation.

I like the multitasking, and the HDMI out. I actually like the smaller size
compared to iPad.

I haven't tried VPN yet.
