Nice tip.!
Does this happen even with SP1? From: Micheal Espinola Jr [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Friday, July 08, 2011 1:48 PM To: NT System Admin Issues Subject: Bug: Autocorrect issue w/Outlook 2010 and older versions of Word (work-around) Outlook's advanced spell-check and autocorrect features rely on Microsoft Word. Apparently Outlook 2010 can't locate the Word executable for older versions of Word. Even if you are upgrading to Outlook 2010 from a previous version of the entire Office suite, Outlook's ability to locate the executable can [will?] break. When this happens, all spell-check and autocorrect features become grayed as if administratively disabled. Quick-fix: Find and copy the word.exe file to the Outlook 2010 installation folder. As an example, copy word.exe. From: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12\ To: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office14\ Restart Outlook, and the functionality will be restored. This issue does not appear to be known or addressed by Microsoft at this time.
