Hello Norayr,

at least now you can boot your PB from floppy disk and CD-ROM.
As there is no CD-ROM driver on the boot floppy you need to do a special trick that at least works with the IDE CD-ROM drives in the PowerBook 1400 (which is nearly identical to the PB5300).
- insert both the MacOS CD-ROM and the boot floppy and reboot.
- the computer should now boot from the floppy - if not try keeping the mouse button pressed (after the startup sound) until it boots from the floppy.
- with the CD-ROM in the drive now there should be a CD-ROM driver loaded and the CD-ROM should show up on the Desktop.
- now copy the contents of the miboot CD to the harddisk (the miboot partition needn't be larger than 10 MB - if it's larger create a smaller one).
- if the harddisk doesn't show up you need to format it with Drive Setup or reboot to let the finder ask for formatting.
- open the System Folder on the harddisk in order to make it the active one (it must have the MacOS logo on it).
- remove the floppy and CD from the drives and reboot.
- miboot should boot now.
- follow the instructions in the release notes of the miboot ISO.

I hope this will help you.

I just downloaded the ISO image again (using the link in your message)
and compared it with my local copy that I uploaded to SF.
The ISO is definitely OK.

I have successfully applied that ISO recorded on a CD-R.
Though I was using k3b to burn it (using default settings: Extras ->
Burn CD image).

Very interesting!
I can't write it using k3b 0.11.24, because when I opened  image Tools->CD->Burn cd image
k3b doesn't check md5 sum check claims "seems not to be a usable image"  and burn button is disable so it seems impossible to write it using k3b :)

What does it mean?

Thanks

Norayr
