Would it be possible to use the ubuntu install cd as a source for installation if I set up the Deb installer to install from CD iso and then scanned it as one of the source cds?

Go ahead through the normal install, selecting your choice of ftp locations, but when you get to the screen that shows "Desktop Environments, Print Server, Web Server, etc" do not select anything. Just install the base system. Once up and going you will need to modify the file at /etc/apt/sources.list. The ftp locations you chose in the apt configuration will shoe here. You will need to replace what you have in these lines with the Ubuntu repositories, but Peter may need to tell you which ones he used. You should be able to find the links to the mirrors on the Ubuntu site. icedtrip On 2/28/06, Vito <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Peter I am at the Apt Configuration screen of the Deb install - could you > outline a little more in detail what you did to get the apt get packaging > system to install from the ubuntu repository? > > Thx, > Vito > > ----- Original Message ---- > From: Peter <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > To: nubus-pmac-users@lists.sourceforge.net > Sent: Tuesday, February 28, 2006 12:44:37 PM > Subject: Re: [Nubus-pmac-users] Re: Kernel 2.4.30 + MediaBay hotplug patches > > I was able to install Ubuntu a while back, by first doing a minimal > debian install, and then changing the repositories > in /etc/apt/sources.list from Debian to Ubuntu repositories.
