Well, Ben, on a new day with a fresh install of Debian Sarge, the sources I 
listed first work just fine.

I looked at the Debian page you linked.  It's from March of 2012 and they say 
they will be expiring the packages for the older releases eventually.  
Hopefully, Sarge will still be covered until my PowerBook 1400 croaks.
