Thank you so much for your reply Adrian!
So how would such a file_type plugin look like and where can I find some documentation about that? My Writer::Description only contains the file extension and the description in this format ("xyz\0","XYZ",build);

Thanks!

Hi
The drop down list of formats in Writer node shows separate Writer plugins
like: abcWriter.so, xyzWriter.so, blaWriter.so etc. Additionally in
Writer::Description you must declared that your plugin is able to write out
such a format.
If you have for instance "xyzWriter" and you place many different extensions in
Writer::Description, you need to force Nuke to load your plugin by use of xyz prefix like
'xyz://Home/Desktop/yourfiletowrite.bla'; extension is not sufficient when Nuke load it
first time. If you need to have your custom format in file_type dropdown knob, you need
to create separate plugin for each such a format instead of list of many extensions in a
Writer::Description.

Hi!

Does anybody know why custom file format extensions and their knobs are not
shown in the file_type dropdown of a write node?

Thanks,

Phong
