Hi everyone,

this is more of a design question than a code question:
Has anybody ever stumbled across a nice pagination design that isn't just he usual 1|2|3|4|5|6.... kind of thing?

In the app I'm currently writing the amount of pages can grow much larger than what I can display in the pagination widget and I don't like the usual design you find on web pages that just cut out a large junk of pages like this:

1|2|3|4|5|6....100|101|last

So I'm curious if anybody has ever seen a pagination solution that looks nice, doesn't take up huge amounts of space and is functional in a way that any page can be quickly accessed?! I guess a drop down menu comes to mind but that's not very elegant.

Anyway, before I start rambling on, anybody keen to explore/share design ideas here?

Cheers,
frank

P.S.: I'm writing this in PySide
