Sounds like you want to be in Python mode, and not C++… Gizmo capabilities come to mind. Jonathan can correct me, but I don’t believe you can hand your _engine lines to an exernal class. The only answer I’ve found in the past is to actually do the Gaussian blur yourself, in your C++ code. In fact, my first reaction would be to do the blur as an integral part of whatever computation you with to accomplish.
For sure you can’t make an instance of another Iop from within another Iop… it would wreck havoc with Nuke’s cache management, I’m thinking.
