Last time I tried to mess with this, I found that many of the "other"
settings were essential packed into an encoded string in a knob like
.advanced or something. I don't recall, as it has been a couple years.

I never did find any information on unpacking it either.

Now this was a couple years ago so it is entirely possible things have
changed.

Subject: [Nuke-python] Query Quicktime "advanced" settings?

Hey all,

I emailed the support on this, but I realize this may be the appropriate
channel.

Is it at all possible to access the values for the data rate via Python
in the Write node's "advanced" popup?

In that case I'd like to know how to disable the checkbox and/or tweak
the value (currently set very low at 90).

I have successfully set everything else up, like this for fps:

node = nuke.createNode( "Write" )

node.knob("fps").fromScript('25')

...but I can't figure out how to turn data rate off (or crank the kb/s
value up quite a bit)

By the way, is there any way you can search the mailing list archives?

I can only list all messages, and that just gets ... very tedious, when
searching for something specific.

Best Regards,

Fredrik
