You could maybe do it on scriptClose instead. Sounds like it’s worth a support 
ticket as well.

Subject: [Nuke-python] nuke.clearDiskCache() in init

I would like to clear the disk cache when nuke loads.   I tried to put 
nuke.clearDiskCache() but that seems to crash nuke while it is starting up.  Is 
there any other place I can put the script to run on startup?

Temporarily I added a addOnScriptLoad callback, although the effect is slightly 
different.
