I wrote this python script.  

If you could email me the xml that you are having issues with I would be happy 
to take a look. Graceful handling of error conditions is something the script 
could definitely be improved on. 

I would make sure that you are using the most recent version 
(http://pastebin.com/ry7Spm5x), that you are using XML v5 from FCP 7 or 
Premiere CS5.5 or CS6, and that you have a single video track and no other 
media in your timeline. 

Also, this script has only been tested on the Mac OSX platform, so if you are 
on Windows or Linux, it might be a bug related to that. 

This tool has worked well for me in the simple usage we have put it to. I would 
like to make it work for everybody though, so if I can help you get to the 
bottom of why it's not working, that would be great.
