You can use nuke.getFileNameList to emulate the way the getClipname browser 
locates and collapses sequences in a directory.

I've tried that and it works just fine but that assumes I know the range of the 
sequence already. Is there a way to have it auto-detect the range the way it 
would if I manually selected my sequence from the open dialogue box?
