Sorry for not replying, I've must have missed your last email,
Well I first stared with something between 8.8mm and 10.24 (super16mm)
and got ok-ish results for the track but the overall 3d space was screwed.
But one of the juniors started getting more decent results with "the
default settings" :) or in our world that's full frame 35mm or 0.98".
Than I run couple of shots through 3DEqualizer and their Parameter
adjust feature (which is awesome), and guess what, I got perfect track
and right angles in the 3D space with the gate calculated at somewhere
around .97" . So we just used that for the rest of the shots. I still
cannot figure out what's the catch on this, but it works.
