Rant On. This is NAB time and it's always nice to hear what is coming down the pipe in terms of products, on top of all the deals that only happens at NAB. For my surprise The Foundry is going to raise the price of maintenance, for people like me another money that is not staying in my pocket. I am a freelance compositor with my own Nuke X and Digital Fusion licenses. What I am surprised, almost shocked was the reason behind the raise, quote here: " As you are aware, The Foundry is a UK-based company, and there has been a dramatic change in the exchange rate between the US dollar and the British pound. In order to remain competitive it is necessary to increase prices and as of May 1, 2011 these increases will go into effect, which includes an increase in the cost of maintenance". The Foundry is a UK company, their prices are quoted in Pounds, with the exception of maintenance. If you are going to raise your price just say it, we want more money because your life depends on our software, simple and less offensive than using the currency rate as an excuse. Oh well no Storm license for me then!. Rant off.
