Are you talking about the Transform node?
It should show a live preview, while you move the transform handle (for
rotate, scale and translate) in the viewer.
E.g., if I connect a checkerboard up to a Transform, and drag the rotate
handle of the transform handle in the viewer, I see the checkerboard
rotate in real-time in the viewer...
