I didnt think anyone was still using the 95,685 style log ? 

Most places I have worked in the past few years have been using the Josh Pines 
technique:

        DPX scan with very dark value (below 95)  goes under 0 once in linear.

                        there are many Nuke nodes that will clip at 0, 
especially mergers. I think you need to take a look at what your colour 
conversion to linear is doing.
