Definitely seems slower, and is compounded by more stuff on NUKE_PATH..

    len(nuke.pluginPath()), len(nuke.plugins()))


Here, with default Nuke 6.3v4, clicking "plugins/update" takes ~1-2 seconds:
Plugin directories 7, Plugins 259

..and with all our stuff takes about 3-5 seconds:
Plugin directories 35, Plugins 325
