Thanks for the update. That helps.

I just tested the theory and it works fine.
I localized a Read node from a  test render then rendered it again. The
orange bar on the Read node disappeared after viewing the new render. The
interesting thing was that the thumbnail got updated with the new render but
the viewer kept showing me the old render until I hit the reload button on
the read node.

I like the way it automatically turns off the the orange bar but I think it
should also delete the old copy. Keeping an outdated copy of a render is
pointless and can lead to confusion if it gets mixed up.

Another thing that would be great would be a button on the node (and a
shortcut) to update the local copy.

It looks like even when the localize is set to "always" or "auto", it
doesn't update the local copy until you manually do it. Is that normal
behavior?
