this would be a nice feature indeed, i'd say add a feature
request. or maybe something like this could be done through
python and callbacks?
on a related note, i think it would be great if a certain viewer
input could be locked to a certain node, because very often i
want to check a certain buffered input but forget to unselect
the node i'm currently working on, and the viewer input slips to
that node.
so to summarize, what i would like is a way to set up the viewer
that for example i can have it doing something like:
hotkeys 1-5 behave like they always did (ie switch to selected
node, show buffered node if no node selected)
hotkeys 6-8 are hardlinked to certain nodes (ie always show the
bookmarked node even if another one is currently selected)
hotkey 9 would behave like kib describes, ie automatically
switch viewer input 9 to the current node when selecting a new
node without having to press the key again.
what do others think?

Hi,
I come from Toxik and am studying using Nuke, which I know
pretty well also. Toxik is still better in my mind about
UI and ease of use, but Nuke has its strengh for sure. I
know when we select a node, we can hit 1, 2 etc and
automatically connect viewer to the node and having viewer
displaying it. right. Now, is there some command and maybe
some script, so I can set the viewer to automatically
display selected node ? Like 5 and 6 shortcuts in Toxik,
so each time I select a node on the nodegraph, the viewer
display the output of this node ? It is very fast workflow
to check a comp done by someone else, and looking for a
bug somewhere etc. This is really something I miss hard
from Toxik.
