a few of us made a big effort to script this about a year ago then the great Jep (Hill) wrote the aforementioned script. Problem is - the reason skip existing is so great in AE is that it works with background renders - letting you run around to every machine in the office and just hit render without the need for any higher level render management. Sadly, according to Jep the particular feature/code that would allow you to do this isn't currently exposed in Nuke. Naturally this isn't an issue with a farm but we're all freelance aren't we - so that isn't always an available luxury. Maybe now that nuke 7 is incorporating the few features that after effects still does better they could throw this in as well? And better keyframe handling? and caching? and...this really should be in a different thread....
