So meen adding a knob to my read-nodes that reads a shot environment variable
to set the path..? From where should I store this variable? I want it to be
easy to update.. I guess not a Noop-node, what should I use?

I'm intentionally ignoring the expression problem for now, but.. is there
anything wrong with using a shot environment variable to set the path? Because
that's what everybody does (or, seems to be doing at least).
