sure looks and reads like the! solution, can't wait to try it. Happy to install Linux OS for Flame but you also wrote the Adv.Gradient is in Combustion for Windows. Does it or any Windows version\software have Flames mask refining capabilities and "..control the shape of the gradient at different parts of the mask."?, or hopefully control the COLOR of the Falloff gradient at EACH Vertex?

Flame's "Advanced Gradient" option could do what you're looking for -

It also has the somewhat fiddly Tracer thing which uses a different
key based on the image at each vertex.

I think the first option is also in Combustion and Smoke.

To be honest I always found myself drowning in a sea of control points
and tangent handles when using either of the above...
